Brother in law has just been told his 56 plate zafira won't go because it has corrosion in the ecu relay/fuse compartment and is quoted ?550 for a new one, is he being fleeced.

without pricing it, i would say properbly not, something like that would at a huess be ?250+VAT - then four hours at ?40+VAT to dignose, POSSABLE programming,

ring a vx dealer in next town, and say

"Oy **** - how much change do we get out of ?600 for a new fusebox fitted"

call main dealer in the next town, ask how much they charge an hour, ask how much if you towed the car to them to supply and fit new, does it need coding ask?

That way, your going to have abetter idea

main dealders charge betweeen 75 and 105 +VAT per hour.

cheapest option would be to get a used one from a breaker supplied with the pin code and get an independant to program it with opcom,if you're going to do this make sure the 2 letters marked on the UHC/fusebox are matching.
