Hi all. I have a Vu+ duo clone and am using vix 2.4.
I am slowly getting used to it but am having problems with the epg and audio selection.
First of all how do I get the epg to show in english when I'm on a foreign channel?
The epg means nothing if I don't inderstand it.
I'm also having trouble to get it to download all the epgs I want.
I use open tv and get sly uk and a few others no probs.
But even though I have sly it, sly de, etc ticked they don't populate.
I then tried to use the xmltv providers as well and then my epg disappeared altogether. Do they not work well together?
Secondly how do I get the english audio to come up automatically?
I tried manually selecting it for a channel but it still used the foreign audio.
Thanks all

as a guide use this link to see if that channel gives you different audio streams.
Eutelsat 7A (7E) - All transmissions - frequencies - KingOfSat (http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-7E-fta.php)

For the Audio options have you changed the Audio settings in the Menu System settings for audio, It has a choice for different languages always choose English for option 1. This will then allow the Duo to try and correctly identify the language soundtrack you preffered.

Although i must add that most channels broadcast there own country's language first and then the English language soundtrack is labelled either Original or Undetermined.

As for the EPG i am afraid that most country's only allow the EPG to be in there own language, as for the Downloads openTV works by downloading the EPG for the satellite that your on so for 28.2? east you would have to be on that satellite and then press the download crossepg plugin this will then download the EPG from the current EPG transponder, The same goes for 13? east using OpenTV you have to be on that satellite and follw the same routine for it to download the EPG.

Rytec's EPG system works differently as it downloads from a server and not the actual satellite, It is also a good idea that if using Rytec only download maybe 2-3 different epg's at once as the server may be down or overloaded this sometimes can cause problems at your end.

Thanks for the reply.
I have changed the audio options, guess i'll give it another go.
Tried to record something on Salon and got foreign language.
when I tried to edit it on my pc it had both language options running concurrently.

With the epg. If I go to each sat, press blue button and select cross epg downloader, will I have to do this every few days?
Or will the new sats then appear in cross epg in the menu?
Is there some sort of plugin that'll do it for me?

I also noticed there id an epg language option as well. I've changed it to english, see if it works later.

Thanks again

The EPG if using Rytec is downloaded from a server and not directly from any satellite so no you dont have to move to each satellite just for the EPG, OpenTV on the other hand downloads direct from the satellite but seeing as it only has 28.2 and 13.0 east its not difficult.

The audio side of things is different as most Providers do not specify and English language track it may be called 'Original' or 'Undetermined' or even something completely different altogether.

By setting the Audio preferences to english your asking the box to search the channels audio for an English language soundtrack but as i mentioned they maybe called something else so your pretty much banging your head against a wall trying to always get the English track pre-stored for every channel.

As for recording a Film or sport event or anything else for that matter it should record all soundtracks available and then you choose which ever one you want.
