I'm trying to eliminate or change the speed limiter in my Sprinter. By factory is set to 83 MPH. What is the best way to do it ? I have purchased a second ECU so, before I do enything I would like to clone my original ECU first. Then I could use the cloned ECU to experiment. What software and programmers could do what I need ? Please help. Thanks.

I don't have the original file yet. Before I buy a programmer I have to be sure that it will read from my original ECU and be able to program the spare ECU. There is a lot of programmers mostly made in China that don't work. So, my question was which programmer would do this job ?

Thanks Jurek. As far as I know there is no problems with placing files on this forum for download. You can also place the link to the location where the file is. Besides the software, some kind of programmer is needed to read and write dump files to the ECU. Because there is so many of them available I don't know which one is good. If you have any experience with reprogramming the ECU is the Sprinter please share let me know. Thank you.

Unpleasantly I but I did not do this yet. I know, that to remove this the blockade. You have to try and ask farther.

No problem Jurek, do you speak Polish ?

ECU safe will not detect speed limiter as its not inside the flash.

If you have someone with STAR Diagnostics then it is a 2 minute job.

Thank you guys. Would SMPS MPPS v12 ECU Chip Tuning Tool that is widely available on the internet work in my situation ? Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who has the Star diagnostic system.

thank you, I will try. Do you know in which line of the memory the speed limit is located ? I wonder to what I would have to change the checksum after changing the speed limit number.

ALEXEI

Hi Alexei. Do you have any user guide for mpps v12 ? Or anything how to use this program ?

ALEXEI

you dont need. anyway not exist one.
select ecu edc16c31 and read flash. then put dump in ecusafe ad select speed limit off.
save dump and write on ecu.
you can first read ecu id with mpps.
dont tell me that isnt work. Ive done a lot dpf off and speed limits remove on Sprinters.
even today I did one
this folder will help you a lot I hope

Thank you again Alexei. I've never used this program and never done ECU programming before. So, I already purchased on eBay MPPS v12 interface and program and when it comes I will use the information you provided to clone the ECU and remove the speed limit. Thanks.

if its edc15 ecusafe cant remove speed limit. you can read it with mpps only to clone it.
for speed limit you need Star unfortunately

Yes, it is. As far as I know it has the same engine, transmission, and the other parts like Mercedes. The only difference was the emblem and a few cosmetic items. So, it is a Mercedes Sprinter sold in USA by Dodge.

ALEXEI
