Would it not be a good idea to have a For Sale section like many other forums have?

Dont mean people trying to get rich flogging new stuff etc.

But for members who genuinely have something for sale that they longer need or have a use for.

Then other members could buy something with a little more confidence than buying from ebay etc.

For example, someone may have an enigma for sale, another member may want one.
At least buying from a DK member would be safer than from an unknown source.

[a donation to DK would be made by the seller, I am sure]

Trading on the forum is not permitted by any member. If you decide to buy/sell via PM, Digital Kaos is not responsible for the outcome. Trading is done at your own risk. Don't come crying to us when you get scammed or robbed

Its in the rules ..

might be an option to use ebay and link to your item on there . not sure if thats allowed but takes the heat off the forum

The point i was making was
I am on a photographic forum, members buy and sell s/h equipment regularly.
It works on there, why couldnt it work on here?

I am also a member of a framers forum, same again. I have bought and sold loads of stuff on those forums.

Are DK members not capable of trading with each other without scamming and robbing?, the other forums are doing it!

Before anyone says anything,...NO, I DONT WANT TO SELL ANYTHING!..

Whats wrong with members selling and buying stuff?

It was merely a suggestion!

I think it is a good idea, Make it so only forum supporters have the option to sell stuff. Obviously with terms that the forum owners/moderators cannot be held responsible if you get ripped off.

OK, it was only a suggestion, are the members on here worse than the photo and framers forums?
I dont think so!
The photo forum has a feedback system which works well, those with good feedback can regularly sell lense`s and equipment when upgrading.

On here for example someone could sell a 4 yr old DP3 for ?2k, giving a newcomer the oppurtunity to get a foot on the ladder with pro kit.
The seller gets rid of his old box and buys new.

Where`s the problem?

Traders should pay a healthy fee to DK to sell

The problem is we have a no trading rule for very good reasons. This is a digital forum, not fleabay........your idea is appreciated but not for DK.

Thanks.

It wasnt for traders, it was for PRIVATE sales, didnt you read the first post![loads of other forums do it.]

A bit blinkered viewpoint.

think its a bad idea myself
as most forums are specific to one or two areas
ie photography etc
and theres enough people coming on here as it is trying to sell and advertise imagine how much work the mods would have if selling was actually allowed

could see peeps trying to sell a lot of illegal and fake stuff here

I read it, I acknowledged it, I appreciated it, I re-emphasised your thoughts on it.

I then decides with my blinkered viewpoint to ban you.

Job done......now we can close this thread.
