This does happen on older Wii's where the BootMii is on boot2. Just rename the bootmii folder on the SD card bootmii.old.
If you still have your NAND backup on the SD card the remove keys.bin, nand.bin and the bootmii folder to save alot of room. You MUST store these 2 files and folder somewhere safe if you wanted to restore your Wii.
Now that its 4.3 you could use the larger SDHC cards. Any Wii after 4.0 will use these.

When I softmod I use a 2GB SD card then after I use a 4GB SDHC card because they are 4.3 Wii's. You can get a 4GB SDHC card from ?2, don't both with micro cards then use an adaptor.
You can always tick the Thanks button if its was helpful?

Just to add to your advice keith, if you choose fat 32 as hdd setup along with choosing to set up usb loaders when softmodding with modmii, you will get a copy to usb folder from modmii which has your apps folder and the likes in it so that after softmod you don't need the sd card again until you are updating cios or adding additional loaders/apps, which in turn stops older wii's booting to bootmii as there is no sd card in the wii.
