after seeing the posts about the vu duo tuner
having problems on the weaker tp's and fringe sats
i read elsewhere today that a new BH 176 image for all vu models
is now available and in the image info it says this
Advanced Tuner Info: Sr Freq Pol Fec
Signal SNR, BER
Infobar picons
and wondered has anyone tried this image version and
is the signal quality any better.

at a guess m8 id say its just a advanced infobar upgrade... just sold my duo and going to go for a uno in the near future as it has slightly better tuner/tuners than the duo and gives a signal lock on the weaker/low sr dvbs2 channels, regards mdt

Does anyone know if the blachole image has the power management option like vix does.
The one where you can shutdown at a given time every day?
Might give blackhole 1.7.6 a go if it does.

@benny/9
you could always load the new drivers on your current image and try them if you dont want to change your BH image, remember to make a backup of the old drivers first.

also be aware that the new Duo drivers have a bug in them affecting the remote, Vu are aware so just waiting for a Fix, although andy has worked a temporary measure for him self.

The advanced Tuner info isn't new, the ability to change the order of plugin display is new.
You can set a cron job to shutdown, restart or go to standby (amongst other things) at any time.
I've put it on my Ultimo, all working well, PQ looks slightly better than before, no problem with signal strength but then there never was :)

Sorry mate. How do you set up auto deepstandby at a specific time on blackhole?
Is it through cron manager?

mtv1 could you point us to the backup you saw?
I've tried flashing blackhole 1.7.6 on my vu+ duo clone and got stuck on starting.
I also tried installing the new drivers on my 1.7.5 backup and also got stuck on starting.
If you can point me to the backup I would like to give that a try.
Thanks

I doubt a backup will work either i would assume it has something to do with the new drivers in the image, Just surmising that maybe VU implemented some anti-clone measure into the drivers somehow.
I see that the patch for the Kernel 3.1.1 was brought out at the same time as the new drivers where released and since then no one has had a problem loading an image on a clone that is until today when BH and the latest Vix incorporated the latest drivers.

as good as the BH172 image, so i have put that back
and i wont be changing again until they get a BH image

Benny/9 has an original Duo from word on the ferrari forums it sounds like your not alone others have tried the same image and its failed to load looks like the drivers need patching.

Images with the latest drivers on a clone are no go, updated Vix on my box yesterday and ending up with Starting on the box, had to reflash with an older version of OpenPli before putting Vix 2.4-151 back on.

Its been officially announced on the Ferrari forums that the latest drivers need patching before they can be used, a solution is forthcoming to put it in there own words.

if you are on a clone,
you can re flash to your previous image/firmware
and you will be fine.
