Hi
I just did an auto scan on my Blade and when finished I noticed the channel 7 day EPG vanished from my group lists.
I have read a few posts here about other EPG updaters like 8010 and Portal 5 will these do the same thing.
If I do a blind scan will it pick up the 7 day EPG channel ?
also when I do an auto scan I can still see the Blade Media (http://www.blademedia.tv) channel what is this will it do a EPG update ?
Thanks

any of the portal channels on 11778v 27500 will allow you to update the epg, including those you asked about like portal video 5
you may have to do a manual channel scan on that transponder as they are not transmitting video or audio, but as an epg updater they still work as I tested mine yesterday before posting a new channel list

Thanks for that
I have tried portal 5 and left it for about 5 mins
It did update most of the channels some were missing
but I did noticed if you press the EPG button I had the 7 day EPG but went I advanced forward in time the description for the programs stayed on the first description on what the film was about is this some thing to do with the portal 5 or are they all the same.
Just another quick note if you have a pen drive plugged in does the EPG store on it. ?

you dont get all channels on 28e on it, but you do get most of them
and you dont just stay on the channel, you press OK and yellow button epg update and it does a full download, always has done ever since it was added to the patch
if you press standby I believe it stores the epg update on it, not sure if it does it anyway
why not test these features and see ? and report back

Yes the EPG is stored on the pen drive after standby
Leaving channel 8010 on the EPG starts to come in for most channels as stated above.
One thing that does not come in apart from now and next is the channel descriptions as anything after that is a repeat description all the way through no matter how long you leave it on EPG channel.

same here , and I am still using jan 2012 firmware
I find that using OK + YELLOW BUTTON and downloading the epg works better than just leaving it to populate on its own
is anyone using newer firmware than january ?
if so, is any of the newer firmware worth using or does it still have flaws ?
and more especially or specifically, does it fix this epg synopsis issue ?

I'm using the 14-05-2012 firmware
works great no problems but still same thing with the EPG as you.

Yes it will if you hook it up to a sat dish. you should really start your own thread and not start another topic in someone elses thread

Works great in South of Ireland
been using one now for over 2 weeks also have setup my own channel list and have sent it to Blade who will be adding it to their server for Ireland.
Should be up soon.

I know this is a very late reply but - tsHt just means that you are in timeshift mode,so you are continually recording whatever you are watching, from between 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Just go to menu utilities/disk manager to switch timeshift on or off.

No problem Hookslicer I got it sorted but you just reminded me I need to update the UK&IRELAND channel list on the Blade website lol
