Lo there.
Having issue with Duo.
Setup Crossepg to auto-download the rytek UK epg files some time after 4am.
Running on BH 1.7.6, and EPG files are setup to download to ext USB stick.
Duo this morning has the time displayed as when the EPG files were due to download at ~4am this morning.
Totally unresponsive. Required switch off/on to boot.
Anyone else see this??

Is your hard drive mounted and mapped properly? I tried the bh epg and rytec yesterday and I changed it to the crossepg and no problems.

Hard drive is mounted OK, but as I say I am using a pen drive (which is accessible)
Just gone on file manager and bizarrely can't see an epg directory on the usb drive, even though the epg configuration is set as USB, and I have manually forced a download.
The epg is on the box (somewhere) now, so when I move channels I see the epg.
It wasn't when I forced the reboot it this morning. but I don't know where its been stored and why the crossepg config is being ignored.
It looks like the epg was removed overnight by cross epg, then the box tried to push to the USB, but couldn't, so it locked up.
Note: cross epg on 1.7.6 has worked OK prev with the USB, its just since I reloaded the image.
Note2: yesterday I changed the root password.
EDIT - just noticed/remembered - the USB was formatted FAT32 for the reloading of the image. Is that an issue? As I notice if I check the device manager for the USB in TSPanel that the options to reformat are ext2, ext3 or ext4.

Blue button twice>usb format wizard>follow instructions to format>Then devices manager>mountpoints>mount usb>will say not mapped>scroll to media usb>ok now mapped. Should be ready for bh epg or crossepg whichever you prefer.Doing this from memory so will edit later when home if I have to. HTH

Thanks
Well before I reformated I went into the mountpoints panel.
Both USB AND Hdd were unmapped. Surprised about the HDD. Is that right??? Seems to work OK and have written stuff there.
BTW, this indicates that we should be using HDD - not USB for crossepg anyway?!?

You could partition your hdd and map those partitions any way you want ie media/usb>hdd>universes etc. Keep it simple to start with. lol . If hdd wasn't mapped you couldn't have been writing things to it i'm sure.

I have never had problems with the EPG being on the USB stick at all, if you are just downloading the Slu UK epg then forget the rytec servers and get it direct from the Transponder via OpenTV and select just the one 28.2?. This will download direct from the Sly EPG TP and should give you no problems.
Rytec's EPG can be very hit and miss as they are as you know downloaded from the server which sometimes is offline, so if you set it up in crossepg to download daily from Rytec and the server is down then that can cause problems if on the other hand you set it to download from open tv then it should work fine on a daily basis.
I always found with Rytec's for other sats your better downloading maybe 2 or 3 at a time so as not to crash your receiver.

True, however it says it not mapped, yet is storing recordings, so as you say must be mounted anyways.
Anyway, have mapped the usb DRIVE, and left HDD as is. If it ain't broke etc
Crossepg now coming down to USB OK ;)

If you want to use Rytec change the download time to after 4am as that's when (as far as I know) the updates are actually being formed/compiled. When I used to use Rytec I set mine to something like 5:45am
