Hi

Have got a skybox f3 with the offical wireless dongle.

It works perfect at my mates with plusnet broadband connecting wireless but when i take it home to my virgin media superhub is just refuses to connect

Ive tried it on both security settings :

WPA AUTO
WPA2-PSK[AES]
WPA/WPA2 ENTERPRISE

The box is running 3601HD_wifi_0512.abs firmware.

Cheers for any help in advance

I have the same problem, brand new F3 with Skybox WiFi dongle. Have tried everything and it will not connect. I'm with TalkTalk and I think they are somehow restricting connection. Looks like I will have to send it back.

Hi Try setting up box in same room as router then move to where you want it.

Done that, Skybox touching router, 2ft away and 4ft away, makes no difference; wont connect via Ethernet either. I think it's something to do with TalkTalk and anti-piracy. It would be interesting to do a poll on what ISP's work with the Skybox.

My X3 works fine via ethernet with Talktalk but not wirelessly, suspect its something to do with their router??

Hi Guys
The F3 is bad for wifi I gave up on mine especially since I got the superhub cos the wifi signal on that is shite, but if you try use wpa2 psk not a mix of the two security modes and like said previously try set up in same room...
I finished up using homeplugs purely cos I am not able to get a wire through my loft due to disabilities, the homeplugs seem to give a good signal and pleasant viewing..

Nop, I tried a different router and it made no difference. No idea what the problem is but cant afford to waste any more time on this, so I returned it today for a refund. My advice is stay clear of the Skybox F3, M3 & X3.

P.S.
So what's the best cccam receiver for under ?125

I've managed to get the Skybox F3 working wireless with talktalk (router upstairs, F3 downstairs opposite end of room) no problem.

My mate has bought a box same place and he was struggling it could be something to do with the login key.

An update, it may be due to the type of Encryption and or length of the password. I would try a shorter password (login key)

I have connected skybox F3,F5,openbox X3 and X5 using the unofficial cheapo wifi dongles (less than a fiver off fleabay) through bt home Hubs2 and 3.
there has to be some form of encrytion on the router, but only one

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this b4 but there is a limitation to the number of characters for the key. I believe the USB dongle ONLY Acceppts 18 chars.
