You will need to pick this to strip
first remove the rear lock ring
turn 90 degrees (you need to turn lock a bit to do this)
then the spring and cam is removed
then the plug comes out the front
(only held in by the waffers now)

You wouldn't believe it but one came in this morning!
adamgr is spot on, you will need to pick or turn the key slightly then push in and rotate the back of the lock 90 degrees to pull it apart.

Interesting, I contacted Audi dealer about this today, they say it is not possible to do this, they are a sealed unit and impossible to dismantle. So this is just Dealer Bullshit talk then right?

Are you sure its the same as this one mate?
I had one about a month ago, the back of it is sealed closed and cant be taken apart. Phonecalls to a couple of other lockies confirmed that.
To rekey the lockset, (keys were stolen), I had to get a replacement door lock from the scrapyard and decode it. Then rekey the ignition, boot lock and glove box to suit the scrapyard lock.

It looks impossible to get apart from the pics to me aswell, please confirm the locks you guys succeeded with are the EXACT same lock as in pic?

I think this video will help:
***39;01 Audi, Rekey - YouTube
you can rewind to ~ 2:50
Time: ~6:50 - why key turns inside the lock without engaging locking mechanism ;)
GtMech: To save you some time since i done few of those, go for boot lock - its much easier then door lock :)

hi , if all fail , then you can cut open the lock like in the picture , and then decode the lock .
after you put the lock together and seal the cut mark, it will work fine .
i have done this long time ago because my locksmith could not open this lock . so do it at you own risk .

I can confirm the lock in znakedwrx video
is the lock I am talking about
for a lost key
I would and do use the lish 2in1 and cut a key myself as its quicker
but I have had to open up the lock for repair before
this is done as stated before and as shown in the video
not as bad if you have a key

In 20 years of locksmithing I can count the number of "sealed" units I have seen on one hand.
If you can't pull something down and you don't have a key for it, 99.99999% of the time that's the reason why.
One part did not "grow" inside the other, there is always a way!

Exactly! In this case this lock is heated & pressed which makes job hard - but possible :)

This year of lock should have 8 wafers in alternative one up one down positions. No need to pick to decode just use a standard decoder.

I just got one of this in shop.
You have to remove the edge that seals the lock with a drill machine or something. At the end you must remake the edge with a hammer.
