Hi fellas,
got a sony laptop here that's been dropped from 2 foot ish by my 2 foot ish little angel of a son!! Now when i log onto windows7 it starts clicking constantly then loads up extremely slow. It's been on 10mins and its only just showing the taskbar.
It's started beepin after so many clicks now. Sounds a bit like a dvd trying to load.
Do you think my hdd is goosed or somethings come loose maybe??
Please help:hmmmm:

Its loaded up eventually and the clicking seems to have stopped. Still extremely slow for the i3 n 4gb ram tho! It's like my first pc i bought lol
I was hoping it wouldn't be the hdd :(
Is there any programs i could run to check it while it's on?

You'd have to find out the MFR of hdd and run thier hdd tools or just a chkdsk

Try pulling the HDD out, using a USB adapter and running Checkdisk on this drive from another computer.

As nibblitz (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/162663-nibblitz/) said , back up what you can whilst its still working...
I would use Hirens to boot it and use usb pens to transfer data to, then a would go about trying to repair it..
It could be the heads of the hd have crashed into the plate hence the reason its running slowly..
Using a live disc like Hirens will put minimum stress on the HD whilst you recover your files and then you can use the tools on Hirens to try and diagnose any problems..
