help with kess V2

hi guys really need your help.
I had a problem with my kess V2
the inside FT232RL is dead
no big deal, I got a new FTDI

the real problem is the configuration of the IC
I can read and modify the configuration, using this program

but I can not restore the original configuration of the dead IC

if any of you fellow, has a kessV2, you can read this configuration and send it to me. would be really grateful

Im pretty sure this chip uses and external microwire eeprom (93c46??) to store its configuration.

you can edit the name it displays as you plug it in.....change to what it should say see if works

the eeprom is inside the FTDI, with the program I can change these settings, edit the name it displays as you plug it in, VID PID, these three values are in the driver, no big deal.
thus the kess acceptance of the driver. but the software does not find it.

also be configured FTDI ports inside the eeprom
as I said I lost my original settings. with the original ftdi

software and ftdi is paired, you cant just put from other kess v2 ftdi settings in your own because you have fixed serial number of the ftdi and on this serial number depends the content of the ftdi so that software can recognized it.

its better you send back your kess v2 to alientech because you cant solve it alone

What exxl means is that in addition to the SN that can be programmed in the FTDI the FT232RL has its own unique electronic ID. That's why you cannot make the Kess work, because new FT232RL has new unique electronic ID UNCHANGEABLE and it's not recognised by the software as an original one. I agree exxl, i think if you want your kess 2 to work again as original you are going to go to alientech for them to repair it.

2) Nice to be helped when in the crap.

What if a member goes horse racing and needs to remap a horse, had to ditch the info at the secutiry gate, just redown load when in the paddok

Hi, I saw your post about FTDI, I have similar problem. I make a ground loop with ktag clone V7, and FTDI chip FT245 fried. I lost USB connection PC<->Ktag. I changed FT245 and wrote PID/VID. But now software don't want to recognize Ktag.

Can you help me?

Hi. you have to put flash ftdi 245 original of ktag .in this file there is program Mprog, and copy chip ftdi 245 KTAG in temporary Mprog. this pc recognizes ktag.551202
