Hi guys,
I attempted to upgrade a customer?s key from the old style Merc key to the new style key today.
The new key did not even power up so I did not attempt to use it in the ignition.
It did not transmit IR or radio.
I put the ASM, NEC and coil back onto the original key and all works fine EXCEPT for the radio remote.
It still transmits on 315mhz but the car does not react to it.
The IR works fine and the key turns and starts the car.
All the soldering is spot on and all the chips went back on the right way.
Does the remote have to be resynched to the car?
I have all the tools including star.
