Any Merc experts out there? Just looking for info..

I have an SLK, let's say a 230 Kompressor (can find out if I need to) rougly 99-2002 ish. Anyway, it's got no ECUs in the engine at all - they were 'blown' apparently and the previous garage took them out, sent them away, lost them, whatever.

I do have the part numbers for the missing two units (the two in the engine bay).

Now, not being a merc specialist in any way. How can I get this back up and running? I can't find much concrete information, is it possible to virginise a 2nd hand unit and adapt it in some way? Could I fit an immo emulator? Would it be easier to get keys, steering lock etc. from another car, if so exactly what is required? I don't have xentry/DAS as I rarely get that involved with mercs, will this be a requirement?

Thanks in advance :)

First thing you must do is find the VIN and post.

Ok, can get that. It's not here, but not too far away either. Yes, it has keys, it has everything apart from the 2 ECUs :) Will post VIN when I find it.

the other concern is WHY were the ecu's blown?:roflmao:

Is there evidence of jump lead marks on the battery terminals?:roflmao:

Is the speedo reading correct whilst your at it?:roflmao:

Would be inclinded before you go too crasy have a look around for any more missing/blown parts.

Not sure what that means? Meaty is right, was ****ed by an attempt to jump start it, probably with the leads the wrong way around, who knows. I just said I'd find out what the options were. e.g. can a 2nd hand ecu be retrofitted with some titting around etc. or would I be wasting my time and better to just advise them to weigh it in...

You can use 2nd hand ECU, just need make virgin and adapt with Das.

NOT our scence either.

Suggest you search for member quirs (vip) - however he spells it.

loook at vip list names Digital Kaos - Show Groups (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showgroups.php)

suggest you tell costmer, you will spend 24 hours LABOUR on the vechiles

First 6 hours at normal rate then less as time goes on.

not intreasted myself, but ebay search for engine and box - weight in is last option

Hmm, so I need DAS, that'll add him a few quid to the job? Anyone know if Launch stuff can do this? I know it can adapt instrument clusters etc. Or is DAS the only way?
