Hi guys,

This is my first post on this forum, or any forum for that matter. I just can't figure this one out. I had a guy mod my wii for me a while back, my son uses it constantly. Now the USB Loader will not work. It says exception dsi error. Ive tried reading a million threads about it but still nothing. when i go in the homebrew channel it says IOS61 V21.29 and on top 1.0.5. I tried loading a new usbloader on and it says
USB loader GX needs unstubbed cIOS 222 v4 or 249 v9

Go get some cios action going and come back and see me.

I understand you might need more information and might have to have a lil patience with me, because im new to this, I feel i could mod a wii starting from new pretty easy now lol
thanks for your patience in advance.

Sorry in advance for my experience level. I downloaded MMM from that link you posted but i'm not sure how to install it after that, I put it all on my SD Card and went to Bootmi but black screen. Should i start everything over from scratch, if so, whats my best plan

It almost seems like everything i try to install freezes or black screen. Bad memory card maybe? I also tried anytile deleter to get rid of usbloader and put it back on but it gives a lot of errors.

Sorry in advance for my experience level. I downloaded MMM from that link you posted but i'm not sure how to install it after that, I put it all on my SD Card and went to Bootmi but black screen.

You download Multi-Mod-Manager_v13.4.zip and extract the MMM folder into SD: apps\MMM folder then run it from Homebrew.

Select WAD Manager and that will default to the wad folder, find the wads you want to install. If you press 'A' it will install all wads in that folder. You can scroll down the wads and press the + button that will put a green tick by that wad select more wads and put a tick next to those then press 'A' to install all selected wads then wait for the message installed correctly after each one. If they don't install try them again.

After you have install some wads come back out to Homebrew then go along to sysCheck (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/syscheck-v2-1-0-beta-17-2071/) after you've added that to your SD card. Then you will see which wads are installed, post a report as instructed in that link.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try this when i get home from work. One other wuestion. Do i need internet on the Wii for any of this?

Keithuk
27th August, 2012, 06:52 PM
You don't need an internet connection to use MMM because it installs the wads of the SD card. You could do with it if your going to use any of the USB Loaders so it can download the game pictures.

Do you have a router for your computer? Its easy enough to setup an internet connection just into Wii Settings Internet and let it search for available WiFi connections when it finds your router just type in the security password then it will check if the connection is good, job done.

Its a very long process but you could download your own pictures if you know the game ID or name. Wii Boxart (http://www.wiiboxart.com/pal.php)

I have internet but no wifi connector for my wii, I would buy one if it was needed to fix it but if not i wont bother. Just wanna get it back up and running. Not even sure why it stopped working, ive never hooked it to the internet before since modded. then my son took it to his sitters and came back with it not working, when i first tried it, it said exception DSI error i searched alot on it but didn't get a fix. So i thought i would try this route

now syscheck is freezing and acting weird, it's not letting me select IOS anymore, eventually it just runs , looks like it runs all, then says success, do you want to display the report, but i can't do anything. I wont do anything else until i hear from someone on here

Keithuk

When you run sysCheck you just press 'A' to scan for all wads not individual ones.

From the bit you've posted its an old Wii that probably been updated to 4.2U some time because Homebrew is running on IOS61 mine is on IOS58. It can't find the Drive date either which is strange.

I assume you don't have Priiloader installed?

Are you sure this Wii hasn't been chipped?

It says 13 of them are stub its the IOS's on stub that you have to fix.

My sysCheck I'm running a newer version of Homebrew:

Try and run another full sysCheck.

If push comes to shove you could update your Wii to 4.3U and softmod it again, but you will need a web connection to do this.

I'm surprise that HH hasn't made a comment in here yet as he is the Wii expert.

Ok. When i get home I will run the full syscheck again if i can. It seemed to be acting weird the second time tho. The first time i could pick between IOS and choose one to run a scan on, the 2nd time i could do anything and it just started scanning all of them, and then when it finished successfully it just sat there. Did not let me press A to view it all. But i will give it another try when i get home. I'm almost positive it's never been on the internet since it was originally modded.

It is a 4.2U if that helps anything.

Cbeast

Any chance it could be my memory card making things act weird? Maybe need a new one? I just thought maybe because alot of things i try to install have issues and errors.

Ok, so im home now and ran syscheck (from new memory card to be sure) and its doing the same thing, not like before when i could select IOS, now it sits there for a sec and runs on its on scanning all of them and then says successful do you want to display the report but it doesnt let me press A its like its froze. also, i loaded a different usbloader through HBC and it loaded in showing all my games but when i select one it takes me back to the HBC, so confusing, any help would be great, thanks in advance

You have alot of the main IOS's missing if your going to use the USB Loaders. Download IOS36 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/ios-36-v3608-1960/) and install it with MMM.

Then install IOS236 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/ios236-v54321-wad-1946/) then install IOS58 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/ios58-64v6175-1874/)

Then install all wads in Full Cios wad pack (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/full-cios-wad-pack-1949/)

Then run sysCheck and post a new report.

If you don't have PriiLoader 0.7 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/priiloader-v0-7-1603/) then you can add that later to block online and disc updates.

Keithuk

Well this IOS36 can be a pain download ModMii6.1.5.zip (http://code.google.com/p/modmii/downloads/list) put your sysCheck.csv on the root of a drive its saved typos when you type in its location.

When you run ModMii.exe from Windows type in SU which is a SysCheck Update. It asks for the location of your sysCheck.csv file then it will check for any updates. If there are any it will create a COPY_TO_SD_CARD sub folder just copy all the files and folders to the SD card and install all the wads it downloads. Just remove all the existing wads so you don't get confused what to install.

WHen I did this a while ago it downloaded a new app IOS236-v5-Mod and a IOS36 wad on the SD card root and that app installed it. I don't know why the app is called IOS236 when it installs IOS36?

keith , you are the man. Thanks so much for your help. Really appreciate it. One i downloaded ModMii6.1.5.zip (http://code.google.com/p/modmii/downloads/list) it downloaded 49 files to the copy to sd folder, then things started to happen. I did say 15 did not finish but at least somethings were finishing. Then i installed everything else. I was still having problems loading USBloader (saying get some cIOS action going and come back and see me). I started looking for a CIOS 249 v9+ (cause thats what USBloader asked for) wasn't having luck until i installed cIOS38 Rev 17 which you mentioned earlier. As soon as i installed that, Everything worked. Thanks again for all your help.

Use modmii and run the full softmod wizard before you brick your wii. Installing wads all over the place as you have been instructed to do is going to end up in tears m8. The biggest problem you have is the same as a lot of people have been having lately, you have been using bits of different softmods and they are all missing one key ingredient and that is an ios 236 installer which is required to install the d2x cios correctly and usb loader gx which is the most compatible loader for games. Don't install an ios 236 was unless you know what ios it needs to be installed into.

happy_highlander
29th August, 2012, 05:51 PM
Keith ios 236 Is an enhanced mod of ios 36 and can be installed into 36 if patched, hence the choice to install and patch ios 36 in mmm, but ios 236 can be installed using an installer without having to patch 36 and in turn isn't messing with original system ios to install custom ios into and allows an open door if ninty release another update that blocks ios 36 again so your softmod won't be lost.

Post a fresh syscheck and I'll tell you what you need to do with what you have can you also give me info as to what format hdd is and if it's mains powered or usb. I will also need to know if you have installed the priiloader hacks and if you have installed darkcorp sometimes called cioscorp.
