hi, new here but no doubt i'll be sticking around to suss these boxes out!

i bought a Skybox F3 with various channels "enabled". also, due to not having any form of TV already at home, i've bought a Minidish (45cm - Zone 1) off a popular auction site and have it installed where i see fit. i have the F3 box connected to my router directly via ethernet, it's powered to the mains, and the satellite cabling runs up the outer wall to the dish and to Port1 of the LNB (4 port one, brand new supplied with dish)

my issue is i can't seem to get anything more than 45% signal intensity and 10% quality (when i go into menu > installation > antenna setup). also rotating the dish at slow increments doesn't seem to be upping or changing these figures

i've used an App on my phone for dish alignment and also checked a site online by punching my postcode in and checking where the line of sight should be and it seems ok

the only thing i can think of is that maybe the dish isn't compatible with the receiver (but i'm told it is), or a setting is wrong on the box. failing that, a P-clip which holds my cabling down has kinked the copper wire underneath, but it'd have to almost split in half to do this wouldn't it?

any advice greatly appreciated - tearing my hair out!

also, i phoned somebody who i know has the same box and a dish from an existing TV provider and mirrored his settings in the Antenna setup options (the frequency / etc) and it's not made any difference. just been out again and compared the line of sight by eye to where it looks like it needs to point and it could do with being dragged to the left a touch more but how accurate does it need to be? comparing it against other houses, they've all got theirs wrongly facing or in a different direction!

hi. i actually just went out with my new satellite meter and moved the dish a little further to the west, and it's picked it up now a lot better - i'm now getting 85%/75% freq/signal and channels are displaying decently now. so fingers crossed this little adjustment has cured it
