Hi ive got a bit of a problem with my pci series adaptor ive brought for my pc. Its a com port one so i can hook up my sat box up to my pc. i fitted it to the pc went in fine driver went fine come to hook the box up no go doesnt show up on pc i know my cable is ok because it works on my old pc thats got a com port on the mother board i would be greatfull of any help.:dong:

check port settings ect or google port make + box make

you say its not showing on the pc do you mean in device manager or do you mean you are just not getting a connection with your sat box.
have you tried reseatting the card in the pc ?

yes ive reseated the card and im just not getting a connection with sat box.

is the card showing in device manager, if it is then its then you will have to change the com port number to one that is not being used.

Yes bud the card is showing in the device manager. Tried all available com ports with dream up and none will connect very puzzled by this.

do you know what port it was using on your old pc ?
i used to have a eurovox and when it was connected to a pc the com port range had to be on ports 1 to 3 outside of this it would not connect it could be that your box is similar and that is the reason why the pc will not recognise the box as the ports are already in use.

Hi on the old pc it was com port one it used. on the new pc ive tried all the com ports available.

you can change the com port the card is using to com port 1 in device manager,high light the card and right click properties,port settings, advanced there you will see the com port it is using which is a drop down box there you can change it to 1.

Hi gone in device manager dont seem to have the optoin in properties have gone through it all bud. this is why im puzzled

if you have selected the card in device manager then right click and select properties then you should see a tab for port settings click on the tab and select advanced, whatever o/s you are using you can change the com port in this manner.

Have you used the cd supplied for the driver and what os are you using

in device manager do you right click on... Ports (COM & LPT) ?

Hi im useing xp pro at the moment. In device manager when i go into properties on the multi function adpters the options that i have got are. General. Driver tab. Details and resources thats the only options ive got.
