The EPG is broadcast with the channel, your Skybox is a single tuner satellite box, it can only receive a single channels epg at a time. To see a channels EPG you need to be on that channel.. Thats the way it is..

How does an original Sky box do it then they are single tuner?

The Sky EPG that their own boxes receive is locked down so that only their boxes can receive and decode it... The EPG that is clear for otherbrand FTA receivers to receive is just the basic Now&Next epg split up seperately on each channel, so you have to be on that channel to receive that channels epg...

so really if a bit of software is created theses boxes could have proper epg via say internet connection to a tv guide place it's nothing to do with it being single tuner.

The Openbox/Skybox boxes just dont have the hardware resources for it. The firmware is not open source so cant be fiddled with, and even if somebody managed to reverse engineer the firmware or get the source code the boxes wouldnt have the memory capacity to store the code and epg data.... More expensive boxes with better hardware can do so..

Hi
the skybox and openbox have epg and channel list but not on d..h if you go on 125/amc 21Claro TV (http://www.clarotodo.com/)/ you will see epg and guide or you can edit the names for d..h in like i do about 5 hours but you will have a channel guide just to let you know it can be done i am in the west so it might cost me $80 if i could not edit them in myself so go try it menu channel edit channel select number right arrow down arrow to rename rename it exit save and do it over and over on all channels till your are done .. also get someone to massage your fingers after it will hurt i know ha ha lol lol
