hi all, brand new vu + duo fitted hard drive to it first then plugged it all in and its basically stuck on starting when i try and change image it wont read usb at all, tried all ports
tried taking hdd out to see if that works and nothing, nothing comes up on screen just starting on the box display itself and nothing on tv screen
box is a clone
not sure of image that might have been on it if any
tried changing usb sticks and all that capers
it just wont read the usb
could the hdd have affected it?
prior to trying this box i had hdd in another box{new} one and it blew the psu straight away so i dont know if that was a faulty psu or the hdd did it.
hindesight i should of tested it with out the hdd fitted first to have known
are the 2 problems connected or do i have 2 faulty seperate problem boxes?

This happened to me when I tried installing a new psu on my clone. Old psu blew so bought a new one and hooked it up.
I tried booting the stb but just had red light on the front panel.
I disconnected the hdd and it booted up fine, so must have been the hdd.
I reckon the old hdd was affected when the psu blew, as my pc wouldn't see it either.
I have since bought another hdd which I have had no problems with.
So I'd disconnect the hdd if I were you, and check all the connections whilst you're in there.
connect hdd to your pc and check if it's ok.

You wouldn't get starting on the front if psu was gubbed m8,
must be a boot loading error, is it a V2 clone etc etc?

hi. if you have a hard drive connected thats in format fat32 or ntfs oe any windows format box wont boot up, you need to attacj hard drive to pc and delete the volume in computer management then it will work on box, had this myself

Thats total nonsense no Vu image has ever had any kind of so called clone bomb in them. The reason the new images dont work on cloned receivers is because Vu placed anti clone code into their own drivers, it's nothing what so ever to do with the image makers.
to prove this you can run the very latest ViX or BH images on any clone by swapping out the drivers for older ones.

If your Duo is a ferrari V2 or 3 and you want to run the latest images the you will have to flash the latest 3.2 update with the supplied Null modem lead and RS232 board that came with your receiver
