dpf on diesel jetta 5 common rail

hi there. is it in anyway possible to read a ecu on diesel tdi 2010 model 1.6. which tool are required. im using bdm, not sure if it will work. customer took out the dpf, now vehicle is in limp mode all the time. is it alo possible to remve the dpf sofware from ecu. many thanks in advance. keep well.
