vag simos 2.1 1.6 tdi

hi all

Got a little problem with a friends 09 octavia 1.6 tdi simos pcr 2.1, the dpf has blocked, does anyone know if there is a correct procedure to do reading and writing of this ecu with cmd flash ie can it just be done on the bench or does it have to be done a certain way,
