I have a HTC Sensation, that hooks up to my Merc HFP Bluetooth adapter to make phonecalls via my dash and stereo, so far no problem, all works - even for skype calls.

However I also have an iPod adapter into my stereo Audio 20 (one of these Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes iPod solutions :: Mercedes iPod kit for A, B, C, CLK, ML, GL, R Class with COMAND or Audio-20-CD (http://www.comandonline.co.uk/old-mercedes-ipod-kit-1.html) ) which integrates my iPod to my stereo, complete with dash readouts etc.

I'm just looking at one of these

Wireless Bluetooth Music Receiver + Audio Cable For iPhone iPod Sound Dock CN13B | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Bluetooth-Music-Receiver-Audio-Cable-For-iPhone-iPod-Sound-Dock-CN13B-/200780401056?pt=UK_ConsumerElectronics_WirelessVid eoTransmitters_CA&hash=item2ebf71c9a0#ht_2398wt_1397)

and wondering whether I could use that into my iPod adapter and then hook up both my HFP hands free for phonecalls and to the device above using A2DP from my HTC Sensation at the same time? Which means I get to remove the only Apple device I have at last.

Anyone ever tried this?

Cheers

I'm pretty certain you can only link to one device at a time with bluetooth.
I could be wrong, it has been a while since I read anything about bluetooth.

Thanks for the reply. I have done a bit more reading on this and some say yes because it's using different protocols, others say no. That's where the confusion sets in. I've managed to find a Chinese seller of the above A2DP device, so for ?6 taking the chance. It'll either work, or I'll sell it on. Beats having to have the iPod in the car for music and a mobile phone for phone calls if it does work :)

Have you looked at fm transmitters?

I was looking at one on Ebay. Plugs into cigarette lighter socket, handles most audio formats, uses memory cards a well as connecting to iPods.

So you dump your music to a memory card, plug it in & tune in your radio. No Bluetooth needed & the stereo will still turn off when you get a call.

Now I'm on a real computer I can provide the link to the MP3 FM transmitter....

Ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130730760633?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649)

Edit...

I should add that this model doesn't connect to an ipod.

I've got something similar to that In the car for the kids ipods, and they work really well.

I used to have one of those in my company car, mainly because any accessories that weren't standard I had to pay fulll (over the odds) prices for. However the iPod connection in my car integrates with the dash/stereo etc, and my phone integrates withe the cars bluetooth/stereo. However I won't cave in and buy an iPhone, I find the HTC much better tbh. Now I have unlimited internet on the phone the intention is to not store any music on the phone, but stream it from home, provided I get a decent 3G connection :)

My device came, dropped it into the Merc and nothing, not even showing as a BT device :( tho that is the fault of the Merc hardware/software by the looks of it. (I tried the device on a set of iPod speakers and it's ok) I assume it's because the Merc really does expect to control the iPod and so is looking for the iPod rather than any 'ipod enabled' device.

Oh well back to the drawing board once more.
