Mercedes w202 speedometer swap

I have a w202 in workshop, the customer has asked me to replace the speedometer on the car with a used one(he has provided it for me).

can i just swap the speedometer and it will work on this car? or is there immo etc?

Why not just plug it in and try it ?

I havent had a chance to get at the car yet and thought someone on here might no. I will try it later today and post results.

there is no immo in there, but you should swap eeprom memory to me. coding and milleage will not match if you don't do so.

I swapped cluster and worked fine although temperature LCD didn't work on the replacement the customer didn't care along as mileage was showman as the other cluster the ribbons were broken. Anyone know where I can get some cheap ribbons?

Hi - can any one help please - I've got a new cluster for my W202 c250 diesel from a W202 turbo diesel - all the plugs are the same - cluster is not working
well - is it possible to program new cluster with old clusters file - my old cluster is VD0 110.008.736/014 with eprom 93C56 - new cluster is VD0 110.008.900/024
with e-prom 93LC66 - please help - car is standing 3 x weeks now - I broke little leg on 93c56 and can not retrieve the file
