I'm thinking it could be this ? As sometimes it works any other ideas ?

There's no dip beam feed there ? This is the problem can I run a feed from the other side ? The one that's working ? Or will this cause problems ?

Can I Take the live feed from passenger side and wire bulb direct ? So passenger side feeds both bulbs ?

What the hell are you two on about ? It's a straight forward enough question , can I run the feed from passenger headlight to otherside ? That's all I'm asking !

would vote NO.

its a modern car, made by a bloke called Adolf.

if your doing that, use one of them Victorian devices in line.

if your thinking the high voltage side, no, no, no.

Did you check the switch or not?

When there is a lighting malfunction, the front SAM will stop sending voltage. It can detect too much or too little amperage in the circuit and shut it down, so running the wire from the other side will not work either it will cause both headlamps to stop working.

The problem is most likely in the headlamp itself. There are 3 components in there that cause this issue. The bulb (which you say is new), the ignitor, and the control unit.

First thing I do is swap the bulbs left to right and check to see if the problem follows. Its pretty easy to do and yes, sometimes new bulbs are bad.

Next thing to swap side to side is the control unit. It is bolted to the bottom of the headlamp with 3 T20 screws. Sometimes you have to remove the headlamp, others you can access it from under the car (can't remember on your car). The thing that usually kills the control units is leaving the cover off the back of the headlamp unit when changing bulbs and water gets in there. If your connector is corroded from water entry, most likely you will need a headlamp and control unit.

Last is the ignitor (sometimes called the ignition module). Its actually a pretty common problem so Benz has come out with a repair kit so you don't have to replace the complete headlamp to replace the ignitor anymore.

I have attached the bulletin.

When following the bulletin where it states check for power to the headlamp, this is where people get messed up.. the front SAM will only send power for a very short period of time, then it sees the malfunction and shuts down the voltage so you have to have a very fast multimeter (Like a nice Fluke) or an oscilloscope to see it.

BTW, the repair kit part number is on the bottom of the bulletin if your car needs it.

Good luck!!!

That's good, but that sounds like a bad ignitor.. now you have the info to diagnose it when it does finally fail.. Good Luck!!!
