After talking to a member on here I was pointed to the fact that dp3 does the ford transit by obd , and was released in February this year , 1st thanks for that iv only stripped a hundred or so out , secondly what success has folk had , as another member states its not very clever yet I did 2 yesterday , just curious as to how people have got on, is it a fluke or does it generally work unlike there vivaro or traffic models suppose to. ????????:barscarf:

Wow! Transits by OBD. A major step forward in odometer correction. As I don't have this update, I guess that's me out of business, just when I was looking forward to a good night's sleep. Arthur.

you guys always talk of people being too cheap.. so out of curiosity what would you guys consider a reasonable min / max for OBD job for incall / outcall.

I never discuss prices with anyone other than the customer but if both you and your customer are happy with the price you are charging him, that is the right price. All this about people being too cheap is a load of nonsense. I work from home with minimal overheads and can be cheaper than those who travel or have rent on premises etc. but end up with more than they do out of the job. Arthur.

50-60 quid if they are coming to me is about right. I know everybody values their time/effort differently but ?20 to do a job when your gear cost you ????'s is a shite return on investment imo

What does it matter how long it takes or how easy it is? Customer drops off car and picks it up later how do they know how it was done and how long it took you. So why work for peanuts?

chrismoore02. Could you put a price on "peanuts" and where you got the figures from? Are there standard prices and if so who decides them. Is there an organisation controlling these prices because for over 20 years I have been working with my own figures which have been ok for my customers and myself but I would not like to be breaking any rules. Arthur.

Captain you know I can't put a price to peanuts. But I'm sure you wouldn't get out of bed to go and correct a merc for 20quid like some people.

Actually Arthur has an extension obd lead and he can do most diagnostic jobs without getting out of bed!

At the end of the day, How can anyone complain about the price of any mileage job, no matter how long it took, they are about to drive off in a vehicle that has potentially gained thousands.

Tulgeywoodman, thankyou for the sack of peanuts. I received them today. I have to tell you that three sacks full in a fortnight is slightly more than the monkey needs. As the house needed pebble-dashing, the girls have been helping the monkey as best they can. Thanks once again and if you still have more than you need, I am sure there are members who would be glad of the odd sack full. Arthur.

You spoke too soon, another very busy day today, 7 transits via obd.
some mercs and a few others........

One question though.

some crafty pikey paid me and I didnt check until tonight, bloody monkey nuts.

Are these as good as peanuts?

Will they match the pebbledash?
