I am a newbie to this scene...
I was wondering if someone could help me with how to swap the cluster on my 2002 Audi TT. What are the steps I need to take... I know I need something called the skc... How can I get that?
Thanks for the help.

hi mate, you can get skc, by obd with good tool, ABRITUS, VAG COMMANDER 5,..... or read dash directly by xprog or UPA, you must have both SKC from new and older dash, then make adaptation with VCDS genuine.

Ok... So I have VCDS and VAG-COM tool. What tool can I use to read the dash directly? I dont understand UPA or XPROG mean.
Thanks for the help.

If your swapping with the same part number you can probably swap MCU and EPPROM data or swap chips

I dont think that was a very sensible suggestion in this case.
In any case, unless you knew the reason he wants to swap clusters its a bad idea.......Do you mean he should swap both 912 data AND 908 data? The 908 processor may have corrupt data or maybe its a knackered processor.
I just tell people to go to Audi and get a new one, this enables me to spend more time in my hot house tending my orchids.
If swapping clusters, the biggest problem will be getting the code for the secondhand cluster.

for swapping it isnt necessary to write 908 mcu . only 912 in order to start the car
most of this dashes must be swapped because of 908 damaged

I know..............done hundreds of them, but I dont do them now thank heaven.
But I would not recommend changing data in a 912 to someone new to this job.

read the first post, if he doesnt know what a upa is then I doubt he will be buying an etl and learning etc. quicker to go to Audi!

Don't understand why ye were trying to help him in the first place. He's clearly not a professional in this job.

My advice was given to avoid tears! often its best to go to the dealer and pay the money.

You're advise was fine, don't see why everyone else thought it was a good idea to tell Joe-public how to do our job and tell him what tools can do it.
Ah well, hopefully he'll destroy both dashes and pay some of us to fix it.
Just my opinion.
