hi guys can someone explain exactly what the dreamboxes do.?

There are various models of Dreambox but basically they are digital tv receivers that run an open source linux firmware.

They can emulate various encryptions without the need for a card or CAM, they can also be connected to the Internet in order to share someone elses Sky card etc. You can use it as a media player to watch your movies and listen to your music and browse pictures stored on your PC. You can watch or record the TV stream directly onto your PC - other models have a built in hard drive making them PVR.

so if i have a sky dish and one of the boxes i could get all the channels with out paying for them.? or could i connect it to the internet and share my mates card.?

i have another question how would i go about setting up a dreambox via the internet and sharing my mates card?

Yes you would get all the Sky channels that your mate pays for.

Unfortunately we can not discuss card sharing on this forum, but go Google Cardsharing and you'll find loads of places where you can get help.
