I know that it there are many variables when it comes to measuring SNR, such as receivers giving different readings, but I would be grateful if people could post their SNR readings so that I could compare them against mine, to see if I am getting what I am meant to. Thank you. :)

I am in Northern Ireland, and I have a 1.1m TD110 dish, with an Inverto Black Ultra LNB, and I am using a DM800HD clone, with Alps BSBE2 tuner.

My readings are as follows. I just chose random channels.

42.0e - CNN Turk - 18.50db - 100%
39e - Arena Sport 1 - 16.50db - 100%
36e - Setanta Euro Asia - 13.00db - 81%
28.2e - Channel 4 HD - 21.50db - 100%
26.0e - Dubai Sport 1 - 11.00db - 68%
23.5e - Brava HD - 17.00db - 100%
19.2e - Club-RTL - 17.50db - 100%
16.0e - Tring Sport 1 - 15.50db - 96%
13.0e - AD Sport 1 - 16.50db - 100%
10.0e - BFBS 6 - 16.50db - 100%
9.0e - 13th Street Poland - 17.50db - 100%
7.0e - 24 - 10.00db - 62%
4.8e - Viasat Football - 5.50db - 34%, (I did not even expect to get this at all due to living in Northern Ireland, and being well outside of the footprint of the Nordic Beam, channels not on the nordic beam are around 95-100%)
0.8w - C More Action - 17.00db - 100%
4.0w - Film Cafe - 7.50db - 46%
5.0w - BeinSport 2 HD - 16.50db - 100%
7.0w - Nothing
30.0w - Sport TV1 HD - 17.00db - 100%

Thank you for reading, and to anyone who posts their SNR readings. :)

Hi. Very interesting. How do you get so many 100%?? The most i have ever seen is 98% but only on a few satellites. It least your guide will give people some idea of what they should get with similar equipment etc. Thank you.

I attempted to tweak the dish slightly, when I had seen that I was only getting 31% on 26.0e JSC Sports, so I just moved the LNB around, and tweaked the dish alignment until I got the max signal I could on that channel, which on a sunny, clear day is around 71-75%.

At the moment Viasat fotball - 11862 V 3/4 27500 is coming in at 40% SNR, and AGC 96%, BER around 300, but I am just barely getting viasat hockey - 11977 V 3/4 27500, at 31%.

Viasat seems to be the most variable, with the signal being better on some days than others.

I am just happy that JSC Sport on 26e is coming in with a decent SNR %, as I previously lost this channel at night, before aligning the dish again, but now it is staying at a steady %, no matter what the weather is.

Thanks for the reply. :)
