Hi,

I have been reading throught the forums and found a discussion back in January about dual tuner boxes and hoping for some more up to date information please?

I have been using a DM800 Clone since March using DVBLink through Windows Media Center and it has been superb (apart from one crash which lead to reinstallation of the image) but as my kids are getting older the fight for channels is getting worse! so I give up & would like to purchase an easy box to use that could give me 2 or maybe more tuners that doesn't cost the earth!

From what I can see it is between the VU+ Duo or maybe one of these new Alien Boxes? I am not worried about a feature packed box, just one that I can use with DVBLink so the box will be off 99% of the time anyway as I use the media center interface

Many Thanks For Your Time...

the op asked for a box that doesnt cost the earth m8, ?379 without the hard drive. if your kids are fighting over the tv why not put a skybox F3 in their room? i take it seeing as your after a twin tuner is this so you can stream or rf mod one of the feeds for the kids and you and the missus gets the other tuner, or am i confused(happens alot lately lol) regards mdt

Thanks for your replies so far guys... I actually want a dual tuner box to replace the dm800. Dvblink will allow me to share the tuners over the network with windows media center. So I would have a media center in the living room and one in the kids room. Hope that makes sense. As I mentioned the box has to be in standby mode to work on media center so would not be using any of the features that a box would have just its tuning capabilities....

its a vu+duo then m8 as long as you are not recieving out of footprint birds as the tuners are not great for weak signals. ?165 for a V3 clone version or ?280ish for an original. Blackhole or vix image are the popular images, regards mdt

That's great, Dvblink specifies openpli but I have Been using enigma 2 with no issues.. hopefully enigma 2 is good on the duo? Lastly the cheapest clones can find are ?190 where can you get that price??

Thanks again...

supposedly the later V2 models have been given the uprated PSU and the V3 models a PSU and upgraded security chip but only time will tell i guess, regards mdt
