CUMMINS L10 no acceleration

I Have cummins L10 engine that starts fine but only runs at idle does not want to accelerate.
Replaced the PT pump with re manufactured one but the problem remains.

When i plug the return line from injectors the engine starts to accelerate when you press the throttle.

I have removed the injectors to be tested will see what happens.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

IS it throwing any codes, I had a similar probelm but it was the ECM

It is mechanical system no ECM. It is an old engine year 1991.

Try this:


Check if pump is pulling in air. Use sightglass if you have one.
Measure vacuum. Suction side could be restricted.
Check pump solenoid. It is sometimes swollen inside and limiting fuel discharge
Some L10s have a check valve on the fuel lines. It may be stuck up.
Check injector orings.
Check injector part number if correct
