DM800 HDMI-SCART ?

hI,
Can somebody please tell me if you can connect the scart to a dvd recorder and the HDMI to a TV ? (At the same time).

Thinking of recording onto internal hard drive but from time to time may wish to copy to an external dvd recorder.

Cant you record to the hard drive. then copy the videos over ftp then burn them?
