Hi all,
My girlfriend has a BMW 1 series E87 which has the red steering wheel light on the dash. It has been on before and was reset by a garage and was fine for around a year.
My dad has a garage and has a few different diagnostic machines (snap-on modus, launch plus another one I can't remember) which won't remove the code (A116) or light. I've spent hours and hours reading about INPA and DIS and how they may do it by resetting the CAS & ELV so decided to take the plunge. I've managed to get INPA installed and working but I've gave up with DIS after weeks of trying.
Is it possible for me to do what I need to with this software? I can enter the CAS module ok but the only reset option I can see in there is "reset ECU". My dad seems to think this may wipe the module which I obviously don't want!!
Can anyone help me out or maybe point me in the right direction?
I could just take it back to the place where it was reset before but I'd rather learn and sort it out myself
Many thanks.
