Hi everybody, I have a Siemens PPD Passat TDI 103kw with hot start problems.
Car starts perfectly when cold.
Car starts very very bad when hot (90deg); more or less 10seconds for starting.
Car starts perfectly when hot (90deg) if I simply disconnect water temperature sensor so problem are not injectors as usual on PPD.
Attached you find original file.

if I remember correctly!
when you disconect temperature sensor ecu take temperature data from the fuel temperature sensor ! and his temperature lower than 90 and you motor start perfectly!
you need hotfix
try this and report!

Everything seemed to be ok but problem just changed:
- BEFORE my modify, car was always difficult to start when hot; it was perfect to start when cold; it was perfect to start when hot but with temperature sensor disconnected
- AFTER my modify, car is still perfect to start when cold; it is perfect to start when hot if I turn it off and start it in few seconds also 10 times; it is still difficult to start (10 seconds or more in some cases) if car is hot, I turn it off and let it 3/4 minutes; it still starts perfectly with temperature sensor disconnected
If I start car cold it starts in half second
If I stop and restart car in few seconds when hot it starts now perfectly.
If I stop and restart car in 3/4 minutes when hot it starts in 10 seconds.
If I disconnect temperature sensor it starts always perfectly.
Any ideas?

@ teoturo, I had a similar problem with a VW Jetta, same 2.0 TDI with PPD ecu, I don't recall exactly, but from what I remember it was the camshaft sensor faulty.Same issue as yours! You wanna check that out.Cheers

It's very diffused this problem, you are right, but unfortunately camshaft position sensor is ok on this car.

@teoturo
Try to read some live values like temp.,fuel,air...
If all values are ok like it should be than maybe your file isn't good. :(
But, like I say you first need to check some live data and be shore that some "sensor" are not "lying" when you leave your car for 3/4 min. (when engine is heated).
