virtual machine who runs one in my workshop my main pc is windows7 but some of the programes i use will only work with xp is there sotware out there that will allow me to run a virual machine type thing ie running xp on my windows7 operating system.

VMWare............. VMware United Kingdom - Virtualization Software for Desktops (http://www.vmware.com/uk/)

Will run just about everything you need it to do, some programs will not run in virtual environment so maybe best to list what you plan to install, I have about 28 virtual machines

lexia, autocom, and all the older programes that are xp based.

I run almost everything in vmware. Some programs need a "workaround" so the will open. Diagbox is very hard to get to install, I installed it in virtualbox then imported it to vmware to get it to work.

Vmware works but it is still a slap to get in and out of it but at least one can go that way

I use original VMware from Microsoft to use ETKA 7.3 and ELSA on my laptop with Windows 7 x64.

i use vmware is good is software conflicts but you will need at least a dual core lap top and good memory or it will run really slow

Using VMWare with XP SP3 +

isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "TRUE"
in the config file. It makes that soft do not recognize that you're using virtual machine.

The config file you asking for is in the folder where you set a path for your system installation with extension .vmx

Haven't tested it with Nyo, give it a try and check ;).

Better of dual boot your PC win 7 and xp
easy with windows 7 get your drivers on a cd 1st

Haven't tested it with Nyo, give it a try and check ;).
i test with a preinstalled version and it's working good!
