Yeah right. :))
Good joke. No one can extract pin code from RB8 dump. Only via OBD2.

Lupu_sandu I agree only via obd unless he knows something we don't know.

Why do you want the login of your dashboard?
It is useless since VCDS is not able to adapt it ... :-)

Why m8? Maybe is immo 3.

There was a customer, a PIN absolutely wanted to have a code. I thought that it would be possibile to get him out of the meter. But if they don't give it is possible to close the subject. I am thanking everyone for help.

Look at the dump, mate.
It's an IMMO4 dashboard.

You can obtain it - via obd - but it's useless...

He wants to know how to install a used one ;)

The dealer can do it. VCDS is not capable to adapt most of the WFS4 stuff.

Ah, alright :)

Immo4a --> not a big deal w/ VCDS
Immo4c --> impossible

What I learnt from my customers: There are only a few audi dealers who are able to adapt an immo4c dashboard.

In case of DEF:
Always a never ending story! Audi will sell you a new engine ecu, new dashboard and new keys and in top of everything they will charge you a huge amount of bucks for installing/adapting these components.

In case of a simple dashboard exchange:
85% of all dealers will not be able to achieve this job and they will also sell you a brand-new instrument cluster.

The best way is to understand how immo4c works, what data is necessary/need to get the immobilizer working and to own the right/proper tools.

May I ask how do u know if it is 4a or 4c ?

Also when swapping clusters do the part numbers have to be exactly the same?

Thanks.

Audi B7 only knows immo4c.

Just for clarification:
* immo4a stands for immoiblizer 4th generation w/ adaption
* immo4c stands for immobilizer 4th generation w/ challenge id
* immo4d stands for immobilizer 4th generation w/ download

Difference between immo4a and immo4c:
There is no immobilizer ID stored in the dashboard dump.

Cheers for the explanation.

I need to replace a cluster from a 2006 Golf. I have read out pin and security sector using Smok X-Can. I have an option in Smok software to program security sector to cluster (but no option to program pin). To get replacement cluster up and running is it just a case of reprogramming the security sector using original cluster data? What about pin? I assume this need to be programmed seperately? I also have VAS which should program the pin.

Thanks.

You are welcome.
Unfortunately I can't help you with VW Golf.
