International Engine Detection

I am trying to work on a 1999 international truck with a 444e engine but when I hook it up to serivcemaxx it is telling me it cannot detect engine type, please manually
select engine type.
But I tried all the options and still cannot find the engine, any ideas on how I get around this.

Servicemaxx has problems detecting some of the old engines. Does it connect when manually selected? If so then that's what you'll have to do. If it doesn't connect manually, is the ecm being powered up? Are the datalink wires good?

For these older engines you will want to use MD as it works better with the T444E. You can use ServiceMaxx but it will not detect this motor and you will have to select it mannualy every time. Hope this helps.
