I know if you use the drbIII emulator. There is an option in the skim menu to do a replaced PCM
When you preform this function it changes the vin to match the skim validates and programs the PIN number to the PCM. Also transfers the secret key from the skim to the PCM so that the old keys will function.
Not sure if the emulator can be used without a factory tool like the star scan or star mobile.
Maybe with J2534?

Best solution is to use drb3 and change vin in the ecu as long as you know pin for that ecu or use ecu replacement option in drb3 as long as you have pin ready...
Pin is located in Immo - skim module connected to the key reader in 24c02 as I remember correctly... It can be calculated based on dump...
And for the new ecu it can be calculated based on vin number of the vehicle the ecu was in...
If you do not have access to drb3 try with some other diag equipment as long as you are able to change vin in ecu the car will run...
Good luck...

If you need the PIN numbers post the VIN(s) here and I will get them for you. You should only need the Original Vin numbers Pin.
The DRBIII asks for the PIN when you choose the PCM replaced function in the SKIM menu. (I don't think its specifies but it wants the PIN of the VIN programmed in the SKIM module)
Im sure you could also virginize the SKIM Module via dump and program the PIN of the REPLACEMENT Computer, but that may cause you to need a new key programmed :/
and there is always the Molotov Cocktail method

Hi mates. I wanted to ask a question in my ignorance.
I have an ecu of a Jeep Cherokee VM motor "P56041 336AB". I'm having trouble encoding the immo. You could adapt through wiring the ecu without the car with machine diagnosis adapting the pin or vin?
Thanks in advance ;)

if you connect on bench (power/ground/communication) and just change the VIN (with DRB3 or many other scan tool will do that) it will be a start right away. make sure you write the VIN that is register in SKIM, because sometimes, tech could have butcher a past job by installing a used SKIM and changing VIN in ecm, happens to me a few times.
if you have DRB3 and need some more explication on how to change VIN without the SKIM connected on bus, just send me a PM.
orrrr... if you want to butcher and you don't have drb3 or any scan tool that would work to write VIN... you could read skim eeprom, and change VIN in skim to match the one you have in ecm. (can read ecm's VIN on the bench with most scan tool) I guess it should work on those old model.
hope it help!
