After a lot of time spent on fixing faults with my Stilo i have a spare bsi and engine ecu witch i would like to learn on. I do have a working car and electrical background but not auto-electrics like todays cars. Points and condenser are more my thing. I have got a kwp2000 and have found after reading posts here that this cant be used for immo off or virginsing this ecu so i have ordered a eprom burner to do a bit of tinkering with. i found a site that sell a tool that is kwp format and allows immo off via the k Line please it says to connect:

ecu car side

pin 10 K line
pin 16 +30v
pin 29 +15v

Engine Side

pin 5 Earth/ground

Now the newby question if you apply 15 volts to pin 29 and 30 volts to pin 16 and only earth pin 5 dose this work some magic in the ecu to be able to read write the immo eprom maybe a zenor diode alowing kline to switch????? :help::help:
if this was to work is there a software issue??:stupido2:

thanks for looking

you would fry your ecu by applying 30v to it - why on earth would you do that?
there are only a few tools that can virginise these ecu's trough the K-line, Arbrites AVDI with FN004 module is probably the best to do this job but it is rather costly for such an experiment....

First of all, buy any eeprom programer, something like this (http://www.ebay.es/itm/PROGRAMADOR-EEPROM-24x-25x-93x-95x-11x-USB-EEPROM-PROG-/230900509638?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item35c2be2bc6).
Next, drill a hole in ECU and remove eeprom, read it and post data here, so someone can help you to make it virgin.
You can find all info here, just use search button.
Good luck.

thank you both for that i will wait for the eprom programmer to come and then play. I thought that 30 volts was strange and would blow the ecu but all of this is new to me and a very steep learning curve. even the electronics are different from what i did 20 year ago at collage, at least you could see the components back then. I have found this site a wealth of good information and a great help. I look forward to learning more. Thanks again D K :party:
