Hello community,

I am new here and I would like to know if anyone could give some advice on the following:

Many years ago I used to watch a channel on hispasat using my Humax 5100 (two CI slots) together with a Matrix Revolutions CAM. After moving home, I was unable to use a dish in my flat. So, for many years, I forgot about this matter. Now, I have access to Hotbird and my old Humax found that channel I used to watch. However, it is now in Nagravision 2, instead of 1. I understand that my MR CAM can't be used for Nagra 2 and perhaps my Humax is a bit old to handle that too.

So I see there is a STB called DM 500S, which costs around ?40.00. Despite the fact it does not have a CAM slot, I understand that some people use it for Nagravision 2. Can anyone confirm that for me please ? Or perhaps a better solution for Nagra 2 ?

Thank you for reading and any feedback left.

Hi mdt,

It is called TV Globo International (ID C102 13? E Hot Bird).

Thanks !

its open via softcam on most stb,s and hasnt changed key for 2 years.. ivejust done some digging and it seems there is no patch for the 5100 but is for 52/3/400 series albeit older patches with updated softcam. the dm500s will do what you want via certain emulators, c**am,mgcamd ect. regards mdt

Thank you mdt. I think I will go for DM500s, as it has linux installed and I used to support that operating system. How things have changed since 2001, the last time I used my Humax, bought in Germany when I was living over there. Again, thanks for your time and precise response.

Hi mdt,

My DM500 arrived yesterday. Still trying to figure out how to use it with cccam. Can I ask you again a question ? Is it mandatory to connect cccam to server in order to decrypt a channel or cccam can use a local file (softcam) with hexa codes ? I ask that because I see some people making codes available to watch some channels, including the one I am looking for.

Thanks a lot !

Yes you can use a softcam file with CCcam as the reader without internet connection to the DM500s

you need to ftp the softcam.key file into var/keys and then dependant on image used just press usually blue but could be green/yellow/red untill you get the softcam menu where it should say 2 softcams installed. common interface and c**am... select c**am and save and restart or ok for the cam to start. regards mdt
