Need Your Advice Please For My 84 year old Dad, About Updating To The New Vix Image

I need your advice please, my dad has a vu+duo and hasn?t had it updated for a while. He keeps getting Tune or Tuner Failed on a lot of channels lets say on Thor and other satellite channels, I have wanted to update for him but he didn?t want it doing until now.

Will the new Vix Image go straight on using a USB stick, or is there anything else need loading on before the image goes on.

You could try a new channel list first before you flash the box

You will have to update the duo bootloader first. duo_cfe_3_0_usb.zip before you can load later image. Be careful to do this properly as you can brick your box. Why don't you just update your satellite list. When you put new image on you will lose all previous settings files etc so you will be starting from scratch. Make sure you ask plenty of questions if you are unsure.

I have the latest Catseye E2 Settings File 75 East-45 West 15.12.2012 and that hasnt worked .Is it worth changing the satellites XML Document,I have seen on some s-- Italia and other channels on other satellite packages some of the channels are duplicated .like they could be 3 action channels where there should only be 1 ,of that channel. He does very well for his age, just occasionally he asks for help with it.

Just to let you know the latest catseye list is dated 04/01/2013 and already has the latest .xml file included, if this is not sorting the problem then it looks like a reflash is probably on the cards

Thank you for letting me know about the new catseye list ,I put the new one on for him yesterday and it has improved .The only thing is when you go from one satellite to another i came across one or too channels, with this sort of abbreviations .
