I never tried UPA with those mcus. Always using CP and connecting four wires: GND,PWR,RX,TX. No lifting.
CP manual shows more than four wires, but don't work without lifting. Kind a tricky. Defo UPA will do the job. See connection manual and try to play with it before lifting..

Wow, what a surprise. In my cases, usually UPA is more stable on Motos than CP. But i always trying CP first, than UPA.
Have to try that one with UPA. I believe there must be an way.

Today i tried HC05 with UPA and worked just fine!
Connecting only 4 wires: P2-TDO, P3-RDI, P5-VSS, P9-VDD. No lifting.
If you connect all wires, than having problem and must lift.
