I could not believe it when I read that there are over 13000 households with black and white televisions, think it could be due to costs of ?49 for black/white or ?145.50 for colour licences!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont know anybody who has one or have even seen a black and white tv for years ..

we are now into 3D colour TVs, I was trying out at my brothers, with these special glasses , the effects were phenomenal! a demo video on Sky 3D where a bowl of fruit flies across in all directions and an apple heads all the way as if it is going to strike your head! you almost react to avert it hitting you! its like it is really popping out of the telly all the way across to where you are sitting, unbelievable depth!

I am betting a lot are owned by blind people, they cannot see the screen so dont need a colour TV, they just listen to the audio/audio commentary.
I used to know an old lady who did this, her TV didnt even have a screen any longer!!!

My mums flat screen colour TV broke over the Xmas period, It was still under guarentee. So I took it in to be fixed for her.

As a joke I said to her , my mate has a Black & White TV you could borrow it off him until yours is fixed, and she got really excited about that saying, " great it will be like the old days".
