Hi,

I'm looking to get my first satellite receiver box and have decided I think to purchase a VU+ duo box but can't decide whether to go for an original or clone box.

Does anyone know of any good places to buy either box?

Regards,

Dave.

Hi Dave, avoid clones, buy an original m8, google it or do a search on here for reputable dealers, question has been answered a million times b4,

Thanks for the reply :-)

I was in two minds whether to go with a clone, I was urging towards an original box, it's just the clone box seems a lot cheaper.

I guess they are cheaper for a reason.

Is there a section on here for sellers?

Or you could go for a solo2 for not much more money.
It's also twin tuner but with 1.3 ghz processor and transcoding on the fly. Much better machine imho.

I'd like to get the best for my money that I can....

Is the Solo2 box that much quicker than the VU+duo?

Loads faster. Also has gigabit ethernet, much smaller and easier on the eye. Only drawback is only has 12 character vfd display on the front, but no biggie to me.
Also only takes 2.5" hdd.

Display is no big deal to me either given that the S+y boxes don't have a display at all :-)

Do you know of a good reasonably priced place to buy them from?

Google is saying around ?300 - a little much I think.

The VU+duo box can be had for about ?220 ish...

Think they're about ?280 if you buy from Germany.
Hm sat is a good one I think.
Also check flea bay and choose worldwide.

IMO, it's not worth buying an original duo - might as well pay a few quid extra and get the solo2.

If you want cheaper solution but less piece of mind, then risk it with a clone. Still got a pretty good chance of getting a good clone.

It's either solo2 - for around ?300 (around ?270 from Germany) or a clone duo - noty sure how much they've dropped in price and which version of the clone you get (v2 or V3, obviously v2 will be cheaper)

Are they doing vu+ solo2 clone's yet?

How do the clones differ to the originals?

Do you know of a good place to be a clone from?

I've heard of nextbay.biz or nextday.biz is it?

There are no solo2 clones and hope there never will be.
Problem with buying a clone from china is the return costs if there is a problem. I personly will never buy a clone again.

It sounds like you have been stung with a clone before.....

I think I'd spend the extra money and get a genuine one.

I've sent those people a mail in Germany and they seem pretty helpful.

Been stung with a v1 and v2 clone. One had a psu go pop which fried my brand new 1 tb hdd, the other wouldn't move my dish.
Hope you enjoy your new box once you get it.
