View Full Version : Strange BDM problem

I have 3 BDM tools, different power supplies, and different probes. Done many BDM reads and writes in the past, but I have two used ECU's here, one EDC16 one MED9 that will not respond. Tried all tools/power supplies and probes to rule them out. Both ECU's read on the bench over OBD so they are working.

Why no BDM comms? "Blown" BDM ports? Highly unlikely that two ECU's are like this?

No wonder. I've have similar case when somebody bring 2 ECUs for remap.
Both was opened before (not by me) and both with blown BDM port.

Not good. Can read/write 95160 but MED9 has immo data in flash also and can't write that OBD without immo authentication :(

You can solder the flash as well. Where is the problem?

M58BW016 chip?

M58BW016 chip?

Device search | Elnec (http://www.elnec.com/search/?search=M58BW016BT+%5BPQFP80%5D&where_search=device&continued=on&support=on)

Of course not possible with cheap stuff, but it works.

Hello filecloud

Do you use the Elnec's adapter for M58BW016?

Hello filecloud

Do you use the Elnec's adapter for M58BW016?

Why?
You think it will not work when they list it as supported?

No, not that way.
I use Beeprog+ and need to make one of the adapter, if you have one and kindly willing to help for wires mapping.

I only have pqfp256 adapters so far. They are two layer double board and contain some electronic device. impossible to unroute under the Yamaichi socket.
I suggest simply to buy it.

Probably you're right as not possible, but feel challenging to try.

I've done one for 29BL802. The photo of blue PCB of M58BW016 is my suspended project as lacking of the mapping.

sorry, off topic

Wow, looks really good. Well done. I did such stuff also years ago. But today for me it is much easier to tune one car more and use the money to buy the adapters i need.

Zmann,

I have the same problem to read and program the ECU
BOSCH 0 261 209 319 OMEGA Australian.
I have here beeprog, can you can please send me the schematic of the adapter eprom M58BW016?

thank you!

Hi, look at my upper post, my project has stopped for one and a half year due to I haven't found the schematic.
edit: curiously, if we have the schematic what shall you do with the blue stuff in the photo like mine, any other idea?

@filecloud, price of the adapter we can buy one clone Beeprog :) unlike you I can't earn $ by having the adapter (not in auto electronic business!)

cheers,

I do not get it.
If you use a cloned beeprog from china then why don't you buy a much cheaper pqfp80 adapter from the same source?
If you develop something in electronic business why do you use a pqfp80 memory layout in your own design?
If you do not earn money with the job, simply do not do the job and use the time for something else...

Zmann,

I slipped the detail that you do not have the schematic, excuse me.
the price of the ELNEC adapter is $ 308, the representative of the ELNEC here in my country is $ 610.
you have the pinouts of BeeProg?

Zmann

I think you can order directly from Elnec ? I did for my Beeprog+

Some fact about pinout on modern programmer, most of the pins allocation are dinamic from chip to chip, ex. the same pin function of different chip even of the same family may be allocated to different pin on ZIF socket by software.

You can remove the MXB flash and solder into a spare edc16/med9 and use bdm to read the file

Can the 95160 be virginised if read with a clip? Then just need PIN from car and adapt channel 50?
