Now here's the scenario guys,I've got sly + and also a skybox f3, I'm in a flat with a communal dish and 2 feeds coming in,obviously to use my sly box properly it needs both feeds,is there an easy way to split the 2nd feed into my sly box and the f3,so that both will work?

each tuner needs a separate feed , so no you cant do that
you can set the sly+ box to single tuner as a feed and have the other feed into the f3, but then you only get one channel not 2 on the sly+ box
or you could fit an a-b switch and switch between the 2 boxes on one of the feeds, but that may give you problems on the sly+ box if recording or watching tv
so ideally you need 3 feeds which you havent got

Thinking about it the f3 has a loop output on it do if I ran a cable from there to the 2nd input of my sly box would that work?

it should work if the f3 is placed on standby as then the plus box has both feeds available
but when you have the f3 on the sly box wont get many channels from that feed as the f3 is in charge, which may cause plus recordings to fail
3 feeds are what are really needed, anything else is a compromise

Unfortunately I have to compromise as I'm in a flat on a communal dish with no physical way of getting another feed

yes you do , thats why I pointed out all the pitfalls as you are trying to do the impossible here, because you cannot split a satellite feed and have full control, so anything you do has consequences, which is why I pointed out the consequences
a plus box will just pick one of its 2 feeds to watch or to record on, so if you have one feed with little or no control due to an f3 intervention it could cause your sly box to fail a recording, or to give you "no signal"
so anything I have given you as available has problems and so you need to be aware of those pitfalls
some flats only have one feed which exacerbates the problem, and few if any flats with communal systems will have more than 2 feeds
living in flats is a compromise if you live on the 10th or 22nd floor and the lift is out ;)

do you watch them both at the same time if i assume they are in the same room if not then just use the loopout function, or split the feeds between the 2 and so you can record on the official box still and watch on the F3

You could use one of the cables from the lnb to the f3 then loop out to the skybox but some channels are horizontal and some are vertical so you could watch something on the f3 and record 2 on the sky on certain channels. But you would need to know which channels recieve there signal which way for this to work. It's trial and error. Ramjet or digicon could prob articulate this better but it's possible.

They aren't used at the same time, when one is in use the other is on standby,I've used the loop to run 2nd feed into sly box and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks for all your help and advice guys
