audi a4 fan going direct

hy brothers and sisters i have a problem with an a4 audi 1.8 turbo..the fan keeps turning on in high speed...fault code p1291 coolant temperature sensor [g83] signal too large..i have replaced the sensor but the fault keeps coming back...i have seen its a common problem in the audi's..please help..

What temperature yours diag shows?
Have you checked the wiring?

17699 - P1291 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor at Radiator Outlet (G83) Signal too Low

Did you replace the correct sensor? As this one is in the radiator.
What do you use to read the fault codes? It seems to be giving a slightly wrong description.

vcds is the cable i use...and i replaced with the correct sensor..
