Hi,

Can anyone recomend the best settings for successful recording from my DM500. I have been trying different settings over the last few days, the recordings seem to record and are on my network drive but im unable to play them, they wont load in VLC or my LG Blu-Ray player and on my Dreambox when I try to play the file there is a popup box flashing buffering but the file never loads.

My current settings are:

Directory Permissions- 755
Ringbuffer Size- 2 MB
Maximum File size (MB)- 2048
Write Synchronous (O_SYNC)- off
Write Synchronous (fdatasync)- off
Record VideoText- off
Record Subtitles- off

I record to a usb drive connected to my router. This is setup details for the router are:

Type- CIFS
Local Directory /mnt/cf
Mount On Starup- Yes
Mount Options- rw,soft,udp
Mount options- nlock,rsize=8192,wsize=8192
It is set to auto mount on startup.

The USb drive is formatted in NTFS format.

Any help would be appreciated and also could someone tell me what write synchronous (O_SYNC) & (fastdata), ringbuffer and the network mount options mean please.

Thanks
