View Full Version : Using EPG on a DM800 that needs to be powered down frequently

Hi,

We use a DM800SE in a Motorhome whilst out and about.

When the Motorhome needs to be started or if we want to shut the 12v system down whilst out of the Motorhome, the power is lost to the Dreambox. This is turn loses the EPG which iirc is stored on the Internal HDD (I download it manually rather than setting it up for automatic).

Is there a way I can configure the setup so that it knows there is an EPG already downloaded as I currently have to keep updating the EPG and download the new data up to 3 or 4 times a day which is less than ideal.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

i would imagine if its saved on a hard drive it could be reloaded again ,hopefully others can advise further on settings.

Just install Cross Epg plugin and set it to force epg reload on boot.
Ideally you should install Cross Epg to a usb drive instead of a hard drive .A hard drive needs to spin up and down all the time if loading an epg.
A small usb drive will do ,1gb is ample.

Hi,

THANKS for the advice / info.

The "force reload on boot" seems to have fixed it, though I am not 100% as I have it all correctly set up now I did that much messing prior.
