how many keys can be programmed in 2003 ford focus

hi all
finally got key and remote sorted with my relatives ford focus
i got 3 keys cut but using t300 to erase keys and then cycling thru the cut keys i could only program 2
the 3rd on would not start the car after

is there a limit to how many keys u can program
ive googled and found in the owners manual there is a way to add another key if u have wo programmed
does anyone know what is needed to add another key without use of t300

the number of keys that can be programmed is 8

yes this is correct that 2 keys cycle in .
now after procedure of 2 keys added you must ...
turn ignition on with first key and watch the pats light come on and go off
now remove first key and turn ignition on with second key , watch pats light come on then go off.
car is now in programming mode .#
insert third non programmed key ,turn on ignition again and watch the pats light come on and go off , hey presto easy.
you must do this precedure quickly .
