ok, after many months of copying originals and other peoples backups decided to try my hand at downloading them, downloaded resident evil 5 from a torrent site all went well i thought !

downloaded ok, checked files with xbc and schtrom extract, all seemed ok, burnt disc, a verb, again all went well, tried to play it but wouldn't play.
burnt with imgburn and also tried clone cd same results both times.

took disc round to a mates house and it worked perfectly !

flashed box myself many months ago, a benq with ixtreme 1.4

anybody have any ideas as in what to try next ?

cheers

It could be your drive mate. Or more specifically your laser.

benq, never had any probs before this.

was thinking about upgrading to 1.5 but the thought of taking the thing apart to flash it then put it back together and then do the same again for 1.6 when that comes out, put me off.

i'll just wait for 1.6 as we'll all have to upgrade to that for he wav 3 games.

I am still running 1.4 on live, thing is i flash a few of these things but all my games are but throught abgx anyways.
I was going to update to 1.51 for the 3rd wave video but not much point when there only 2 games out with it on

have you tried burning on to a different brand of dvd-r, readability differs greatly depending on what dye is used.

The problem sounds like it was the iso not comapable with ixtreme 1.4, thats why its included in abgx to fix that.
If you run all your iso through abgx then it will verify them against an online database and patch accordingly.

There are guides on this online.

ok, got new discs today tried to burn repaired game burnt ok but still wont play. ran iso file through abgx prior to burning evrything was ok. downloaded anothe game, beijing 2008, burnt it with same discs, no problems, boots up and plays ok.

not really too bothered about playing game its just bugging me now that it wont work.

borrowed a copy off a mate that was a different source to mine that wouldn't play either but would play on his, don't know his firmware but its old.

dont know wether to blame the download or my firmware.

any ideas ?

What discs are you using?

I would probably upgrade to 1.51 if you can. Also what drive is it?

Also what options have you got checked in abgx?
